RedČAlert
Any warning or alert traps are filtered and passed as incidents to the Alert Manager. These are automatically date and time stamped, thereby enabling further analysis and detection of trends over a time period. Additionally, any incident logged can be forwarded for immediate attention to:

  • An email account
  • A mobile phone (via SMS/ email gateway)
  • A further management system

The Alert Manager can also be used for general IT incident management. Users have the ability to create and categorise tickets, assign severity levels and work through to resolution. An export facility providing .csv format files enables more detailed analysis of completed tickets in third-party products.

A full knowledge base supports the Alert Manager to assist in diagnosis and escalation of incidents. The relevant information associated with the trap is displayed in a browser window and provides tips on problem resolution. Additional information can be stored within the knowledge base to provide additional customer-specific detail where appropriate.

All alerts within RedČAlert are consolidated, ensuring that in the event of a serious failure (for example, Node Down) only a single alert is raised. This ensures that other key alerts are not masked by a known problem.
