Working within the Red Squared IT Framework, consultants spend time at the customer site to capture and document current IT services within the business.
This information is then mapped against the extensive Red Squared Reference Library of processes, the collected data is reviewed and collated and an
output report completed detailing current practices and recommendations. A suggested configuration with appropriate monitors is also documented.
Each device being monitored requires snmp services to be available. The RedČAlert Console requires an Intel based server, running either Red Hat or SUSE
Linux. Standard monitoring provides availability information for all devices on the network that support TCP/IP. In addition, pre-defined alerts are available for
Windows, UNIX and Linux operating systems, together with specific alerts for Microsoft Exchange, various databases, web servers and many other
applications. Minimum requirements for the RedČAlert console/ server are as follows:
- Intel/AMD PC Server (1Ghz processor)
- 512MB RAM
- 10GB Disk
- Ethernet adapter
- CD ROM
The RedČAlert solution is categorised based on the number of nodes* to be monitored.
- Up to 10 nodes
- 11 - 50 nodes
- 50 - 100 nodes
- 100 - 200 nodes
- 200+ nodes (enterprise-wide licence)
The solution offering incorporates a Linux server with all software pre-installed, enabling a rapid start implementation.
